School of Midlife
This is the podcast for high-achieving women in midlife who want to make midlife their best life.
Women who have worked their entire lives, whether that’s in a traditional career or as the CEO of their household, or for many women, both. And they look around at their life in midlife, and think “I’ve worked my ass off for this?”
They have everything they always thought they ever wanted, but for some reason, it feels like something is missing.
This is the podcast for midlife women who are experiencing all sorts of physical changes in their bodies, while navigating changes in every other part of their lives, too: friendships, family life, work life.
This is the podcast for midlife women who find themselves wide-awake at 2.00am, asking themselves big questions like “what do I want?” “is it too late for me?”, and “what’s my legacy beyond my family and my work?”
Each week, we’re answering these questions and more at the School of Midlife.
When it comes to midlife, there are a lot of people talking about menopause and having a midlife crisis. This isn’t one of those podcasts. While we may occasionally talk about the menopausal transition, but that’s not our focus. Because we believe that midlife is so much more than menopause. And it’s certainly not a crisis.
At the School of Midlife, we’re looking to make midlife our best life.

Work with Laurie
SPEAKER01: Welcome to the School of Midlife podcast. I'm your host, Laurie Reynoldson. This is the podcast for the midlife woman who's starting to ask herself big life questions like, what do I want? Is it too late for me? And what's my legacy beyond my family and my work? Each week, we're answering these questions and more. At the School of Midlife, we're learning all of the life lessons they didn't teach us in school. And we're figuring out, finally, what it is we want to be when we grow up. Let's make midlife your best life.
This is the second episode with human design expert, Lori Lisai. If you haven't listened to the first episode, I'd strongly recommend you do two things before listening to today's episode. First, grab your free human design chart from Lori's website. There's a clickable link in the show notes. Second, go back and listen to the first episode with Lori, where she explains what human design is and walks us through the five different profiles. In today's episode, we're diving even deeper.
Now that we know the different profiles, what their purpose is, how they show up in this life, we're turning our attention to what Lori refers to as our inner authority. Our authority influences our intuition, how we make decisions, what lights us up, and what drains us. So if the first episode was more of an introduction into human design, this episode is more of a how-to, practical application of how you can use human design in your daily life. It is so good.
Lori, welcome back. I am so glad to have you back here today. We talked a lot about kind of the overview of human design in the first episode. If you haven't listened to that episode, make sure go back, listen to that one first on human design because it's going to make abundantly more sense in what we're talking about today. If you haven't already, make sure you go to Lori's website, you download or you just input your information so that you can get your chart, and then come back and listen to this one because it's going to make a lot more sense. Okay, so just a quick overview. In the last episode, we talked about the five different energy types. They were manifester, projector, generator, manifesting generator, and reflector. I loved you so beautifully summed it up about how these different types of energies and the whole practice or study of human design really helps us be who we came here to be, which just marries beautifully with what we do here at the School of Midlife. We talk a lot about figuring out what it is we actually want, not what we've been conditioned to want, not what society tells us we should want, but what is it that we actually want. How do we define success? What is our best life or our dream life look like so that we can make midlife our best life? So it seems to me. With that context that understanding our human design. type will actually help us make midlife our best life, right? Because we are then understanding, we're getting curious about how can we become the person that we were meant to be.
SPEAKER00: Is that fair? 100%. Yes. My sacral is popping off and I'm just like, yes.
SPEAKER_01: Okay. In the last episode, we identified that I am a manifesting generator. We did talk about your type. Is that by design or do you share that or no?
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely. I'm a generator type.
SPEAKER_01: You're a generator. OK, so between the two of us, we've got 70 percent of the types represented or the population here. Okay. So let's talk about some practical applications. Now we know our type. What do we do with that? And I don't know if it would help to go through some of the things that are on my chart or how you run with this, however you want, but most of the other different types of personality tests, once we know what they are, there's some, maybe this is a blind spot for you. Maybe this is an opportunity. This is a weakness. Here are your strengths. What do we do with this information now that we know what our type is?
SPEAKER_00: Yeah. Your type is that aura, right? It's how your aura is meant to kind of function in the world, how you interact with other people. So I think with your type, it's, it's a little bit about doing, but it really bleeds into something else called strategy and authority. Those are really the elements of human design where we hit the ground running and take action based on our type. So I would love to talk a little bit about strategy because I think that is one area, one piece of human design that if you start experimenting with it, it can make a huge difference in your life and just start to change things that you didn't really realize were even possible. Maybe we'll start with generators and manifesting generators since the two of us are that type. For you as a manifesting generator, your strategy is waiting to respond. And that's actually the same for a generator type. And I know when I first learned about this, I have a lot of energy. I'm a generator type, so I have a lot of energy. I'm very go, go, get it done. I used to be a teacher and I used to call myself the cannonball educator because I would literally just jump in and figure it out. Um, and I, and I encourage that, but the key for generator types is that you are lit up. You are excited. You have that sacral talking to you about whether you should move forward or not. And this is where a lot of conditioning happens for generators and manifesting generators because we, you know, people sense we've got that warm enveloping aura. People feel very invited and cozy and comfortable oftentimes in our presence. And they also can sense that we have that sacral energy, that creative life force energy and they will oftentimes ask us to do things. Hey, can you do this for me? And oftentimes, because generators are conditioned or whatever, we say, sure, before we even really think about, before, not even think, before we run it through our sacral. Are we really?
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's an automatic response. Right?
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sure. I mean, it's almost like I have the energy. I can't think of any reason why I shouldn't do it. So sure, I'll do it. And this is where generator types can really we can get into burnout. We can get into just being way out of alignment when we say yes. And we really mean no. This is a practice that I try to encourage any generator or manifesting generator I know is to just practice the word no as a complete sentence. You don't need to explain. You don't need to make excuses. It's really just learning how to say, no, I'm not going to do that. And if you have a generator in your life, which you probably do, understanding that a no is a complete sentence and that even though they have the energy, it doesn't always mean that they need to do the same.
SPEAKER_01: So boundaries.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, 100%. And for manifesting generators, this goes a little bit for generators too, but especially for manifesting generators, I like to encourage them to create space in their calendar. And I know you have your planner. I don't know if that's something that you talk about, just like putting blocks of space in your calendar that are just empty. They don't, nothing's there because that's going to give you time to practice with that sacral response and just figure out what you want to do based on what is pulling you forward. And what is calling to you? What is drawing you in? And I encourage manifesting generators especially to not make long-term plans because you change your mind all the time and that's okay. I have one lovely manifesting generator friend and we oftentimes will make plans like, hey, do you want to try to do coffee next week? All right, maybe we'll do it Tuesday morning. We'll check back in. And then I just check in with her in the morning. Hey, how are you feeling? Are you up for it? Is it a yes? Yeah, I'm good. Or maybe tomorrow. So just understanding and not making it mean something about you if you're getting a no from a generator type.
SPEAKER_01: I feel like I might be failing at manifesting generator because the idea of blocking space on my calendar for nothing. I am definitely better than I used to be. I now walk every morning. It's my non-negotiable. Just to think, and it's become this very meditative practice to me, but no, I wouldn't say that I am good at just blocking off time on my calendar, but I am writing that down as a to-do to figure that out and make space for that.
SPEAKER_00: Laurie, I would encourage you to start small because really we don't want to send your nervous system into havoc here, but even 15 minutes. I'll block off a spot for 15 minutes and just see what happens. Open it up. I'm going to get up and walk away from my desk. Maybe I'll go outside. Maybe I'll walk into the kitchen. Maybe I'll go some place that, you know, it maybe is my environment and just see what happens and really like tune into your gut. And Rod, the founder of Human Design, talked about generators, just when we wake up in the morning, don't open your mouth until you have something to respond to. It'll happen very quickly. There's always something in your awareness coming into your life that's going to give you a reason to respond. But just wait for that because generators are really built for life to come to them and for opportunities to be like pulled in by that aura instead of plowing things down, acting more like a manifester and initiating.
SPEAKER_01: So he probably would also say, don't lie in your bed and open your phone and start responding to email. I mean, I do that. I hear that some people do, but yes, it is responding.
SPEAKER_00: But did your phone buzz? Did your phone ding like that? What led you to pick up the phone would be the question if it's an actual response because you heard something versus I think I'll pick it up. And there's never a scarcity of things to respond to when you open up your phone. Right. But I would encourage you to look up and out and just Even the weather, right? Look up and see what's the weather. Okay. I'm responding because it's raining and I'm going to put my raincoat on today. Something as simple as that. Yeah. So that's for generators and manifesting generators, right? Taking action. Let's talk a little bit about manifestors. So manifestors are here to initiate and they initiate based on something called urges. So you've heard the word urge before and it's similar to that, only I like to think of urges in the manifestor sense as literally like a direct line to the cosmos. It's like, they almost get these just like lightning bolt messages delivered to them. Hey, do this. And different urges, you know, may come like how they're communicated may look different depending on the person. But it's this feeling of like, I need to do this thing. I need to take action on it. It's this idea that, you know, I feel I have this energy that I need to, you know, take action on it. The trick with manifestors is when they are not acting on an urge, they really should be resting. And so manifestors have something called a rest cycle, essentially. And again, it looks different depending on the manifestor, but some manifestors might go through a period where they work almost like manically on a project for three months and then they take three months off and they rest hard. Remember that different than generators, they do not have that sacral life force energy. They don't have that battery power. The sacral is like a battery and without that, they don't They just don't have the same kind of consistent energy that the generator types do. And oftentimes manifestors end up in burnout and end up being really angry because they are acting like generators and they just keep going, but they really should be on a very different schedule actually.
SPEAKER_01: If you're a manifester, you should work like an accountant schedule where you're head down in the office doing all the things from January to April 15th and then take some time off.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly. I just say ish because sometimes it might be you work for three days and then you need three days off. There's a lot of information in the human design world that says manifestors and projectors should work roughly four hours a day. So very different and oftentimes a lot of, actually I can't think of one who doesn't do this, but the manifestors and projectors I know all are able to accomplish their work in that time versus a generator or manifesting generator oftentimes takes the eight hours to do the things.
SPEAKER_01: We're doing all the, we're focusing everywhere. Shiny object.
SPEAKER_00: Manifesting generators, especially. Yes, absolutely. Absolutely. And manifestors have, they tend to just be able to they're pretty efficient. And man-gens are looking for that efficiency and working on that. But the manifestors are, they're here to have this concentrated time of work and then equal or more even rest time. That's really important for them. Interesting. Yeah, and initiating again, starting things. So one of the things that can trip up manifestors as well is this seeking permission. And the hard thing about that is most people don't get manifestors. They're only 9% of the population. They're here to initiate. So they get these what seem like crazy ideas and they might ask or they might talk about them with other people. oftentimes get this, what? What are you talking about? I don't understand. I do not comprehend. And sometimes that can hold a manifester back, whereas they just need to be confident in the urge that they've gotten and just move forward and not doubt themselves.
SPEAKER_01: In the last episode, you talked about the projector typically waits for an invitation. Can you talk about the difference between a manifestor seeking permission and a projector waiting for the invitation?
SPEAKER_00: Yeah. So a manifestor seeking permission is out of alignment. A manifestor should never, like you are not here to ask for other people's permission. You are here to initiate. You are here to start the thing. You're not necessarily here to finish the thing. Pull a generator energy in for that. But you are here to start it. And people are not always going to get what you're starting. And that is okay. You just have to be comfortable knowing that. And I think there's such big permission in that. When people learn that they're a manifester and they know that they're such a small percentage of the population, it's like this light bulb moment. Oh, that's why. And also they feel their aura. They feel the strength of that aura and how it affects other people. And they oftentimes wonder, oh, I always wondered like why Why I seem to put off people sometimes. And then with a projector, that idea of waiting for the invitation. Projectors are here to go after what they want. They're here to refine their craft. They're here to find what they love and really develop into something beautiful and essentially As they're doing that, as they're taking part in that process, other people start to recognize them. And then they get invited to share what they've learned, to share, you know, to share that craft or whatever. where they get out of alignment is where they get into this, oh, I love this thing so much. Everybody needs to know about it. Hey, let me show you how to do this thing. And you know, the people who they're talking to aren't ready to hear it or they aren't interested or whatever. And then They just get met with this sort of blank wall and then the projector feels rejected or not recognized and you know, that can spiral. So it's really important for projectors. It's like that stay in your lane idea because people will come, you know, you will be recognized if you're just staying in kind of your zone of genius.
SPEAKER_01: It strikes me that work, if you owned a business or if you led any sort of organization, having an understanding of who on your team is what energy type would be so much easier to help you get the right butts in the right seats. 100%. And not only just in business, but also in any of your relationships.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. And I think of the profile too, when you mentioned that, because the different combination and the different kind of pieces of energy that you bring in with your profile can be really important to an organization as well. For example, if you have a four in your profile, fours are community builders, they're networkers, they're here to create and use their community to help, you know, bring things to fruition. And so if you, for example, were building a membership program, then You would either probably, it would be great if you had a lot of for energy in your chart, or if not, hire somebody on to help you run that, just as an example. We haven't talked about numbers and profiles. Yes, correct. We haven't.
SPEAKER_01: Do we need to do that to understand what we're talking about here?
SPEAKER_00: We can. Do you want me to finish with reflectors and their strategy first? Okay. Let me do that.
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I kind of do, but they're less than 1% of the population. No, sorry. Sorry, reflectors.
SPEAKER_00: Reflectors are such special beings. To know a reflector is such an amazing experience. Essentially they are here, it's called waiting a lunar cycle. I mentioned that they're very connected to nature but reflectors are here to really take their time to let things unfold, let life unfold. And they're very connected to the moon and the lunar cycle and so Their actions are really about looking for patterns in their life. If they have a decision to make, for example, they really want to think about how are they feeling over the course of a month about this thing. I highly recommend journaling for reflectors because it can be really helpful to keep track of that type of thing.
SPEAKER_01: I have a question for you. When was the last time you spent a day focused completely on yourself, away from the daily grind, the constant emails and text messages, the never ending question of what is for dinner? Well, if a day sounds good to you, what about an entire weekend away? And before you start thinking that sounds a little too indulgent, let me remind you that you can't take care of everyone else in your life if you don't take care of yourself first. The time we are recording this episode, we are in the week of a total solar eclipse. So has that impacted reflectors in any sort of special or different way?
SPEAKER_00: I think probably, that's a great question. My guess would be that probably they're feeling everything a little more intensely than other people. Although I don't, is it different than the rest of their experience? Not necessarily, right?
SPEAKER_01: Because they have no defined energies and they're just pulling in and feeling everything all the time. So maybe it's just a standard Monday for them.
SPEAKER_00: It's intense, right? And it goes back to that idea of setting boundaries. Yeah. Yeah. Interesting. So the profiles, did you want to talk about that or something else?
SPEAKER_01: You tell me, because there's so much information on this chart. We've talked about some practical applications, some opportunities that you might have, some strengths you might have. Where would you like to go with the conversation now?
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I would actually love to talk about authority, which is your decision making.
SPEAKER_01: Ooh, okay, yep, I'm with that.
SPEAKER_00: Let's do that. Yeah, I feel like if there's one thing in human design that you wanted to start experimenting with, I think authority should be it. Essentially what human design teaches you is that you are not designed to make decisions with your mind. You are designed to make them in your body in a variety of different ways. There are seven different types of authorities. So I can go through them briefly and give you the basic breakdown of how should you be making decisions. So if you are looking at your chart, How authority is defined is by the different centers that are defined. So the first authority, half of the population has this, is the emotional authority. And if you're looking at your chart, there are the two squares that I mentioned earlier, the root center and the sacral center. To the right, if you're looking at it, triangle that faces toward the sacral, that is the emotional solar plexus. Okay. If that is colored in, you are an emotional authority. And that, again, is 50% of the population. What does emotional authority mean? It actually means don't make decisions based on your emotions. Interesting. Yes. And with the key being that it's more about waiting. For example, if a friend asks you, hey, do you want to, let's go on vacation. Let's book a girl's trip. And your first reaction is like this excitement and you're like, yes, that sounds amazing. etc. etc. If you're an emotional authority, the words you want to say are, that sounds amazing, let me get back to you. This is just asking for a little bit of time to ride what's called your emotional wave. And as an emotional authority, you'll have one or more of a few different emotional waves. And essentially what that means is that at any one time, you are always somewhere in your emotional wave. You might be on a high, you might be on a low, but you're always traveling through it. And just to know that You don't want to make decisions when you're in the throes of it. You don't want to make decisions when you're super excited and not at the high. And you also don't want to make them when you're at the low, when you're like, oh, I don't know if I can do this vacation. I really shouldn't spend the money or I don't have the time or all those things. And really what you're looking for are some things to come into your awareness that help to point you in the right direction. Maybe you're scrolling on social media later that night and you see somebody posted a trip that they just took to Bali and that's where your friend had asked you to go. And so you're like, oh, okay. It's like a little hint from the universe. Maybe I should go in this way. Or maybe you get some more information that all flights have been canceled for the next two weeks going to Bali. And you're like, OK, maybe not. So you're really just looking for sort of those breadcrumbs. In the end, you ask yourself, how do I feel about this? How does this feel? And that's where you come to an answer. And Ra said that emotional authorities are only ever 60 percent sure of anything. because we're always traveling on this emotional wave, but for me, my experience has been take action and that will help create clarity. So once you let it sit for, depending on how big the decision is, sit for a little bit, let it percolate and then take action and things will become more clear as that, as you start taking action. So that's the emotional authority. Okay.
SPEAKER_01: If that… 50% of the people? Yes. If that… I have a lot to say. No, go ahead. I think even though our decision-making, our inner authority may not be emotional, 50% of the population it is, but I think the idea of responding to almost anything, that sounds amazing. Let me get back to you. Might be good advice for most of us. regardless if our inner authority or decision-making is emotional.
SPEAKER_00: There are definitely other authorities that do benefit from taking time, for sure. Okay, next one? The next one is the sacral authority, which is you. And I will say for generators or manifesting generators, you are either going to be sacral or emotional authority. So 70% of the population is one of these two. For sacral, it's that gut feeling. And that is really what's meant to guide you. So sometimes people have a hard time feeling that gut feeling because they've told it to be quiet for so long. And so it can be a real experiment and journey listening to it and encouraging it to get a little louder because you trust it. So I like to encourage people to start with small things if they have a hard time listening to it or feeling it. But it might feel like a flush. It might feel like a bubbling. Your sacral is roughly two inches above your navel. Sometimes I think people have talked about them feeling it a little bit higher even. They feel a little more of a rush or like an expansiveness, a little higher in their chest.
SPEAKER_01: So we're talking about actually feeling something physical. Yes. Because a lot of times we talk about trust your gut, which is more intuitive. How do you feel? But we're talking an actual like physical symptom. in your sacral area, which might be gut, might be a little bit higher than that.
SPEAKER_00: You got it. It is a physical feeling in your body.
SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah. And if you aren't feeling it, it's probably because it's a no. When it's a yes, you might be literally leaning in, you might feel like your body moving forward. Sometimes your sacral will move back. If it's a no, it will feel contract, contracting or constricting. The sacral also has sounds. It makes sounds out of your mouth. And the sacral sounds are things like, ooh, or ooh, or her, those kinds of things. And oftentimes, especially I feel like women of our age, we've been conditioned out of those things because when we were younger, we would ask for something, or our parents would ask us if we'd like something, we'd say, huh? And they'd say, no, please say yes, please. Right? So we get conditioned out of using that, but it's actually, that's your sacral talking. So bring that back. Bring back the uh-huh. Bring back the uh, or those funny sounds that you make. They just, that's your sacral helping you.
SPEAKER_01: My sacral might not make those sounds, but my face does because my mouth won't anymore. It's all about that conditioning. So yeah, I get that.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, which that's great. That's great. If that's that how is how the energy expresses. level away. So if you don't have your emotional solar plexus defined and you don't have your sacral defined, but you do have your spleen defined, which is the opposite triangle from the emotional solar plexus, then you'd be a splenic authority or a splenic. And this is about intuition. The spleen is the one center in human design that's connected to the animal kingdom. So it's our oldest center and it's really rooted in safety and keeping us safe. It's like that fight or flight kind of energy where a gazelle running away from the lion kind of thing. It's going to move your body before you even realize you're moving or have time to think about it. And this is our center for intuitive strength and energy. How your intuition speaks to you will probably differ from person to person, and it's usually in one of the clairs. So, for example, claircognizant, when you just know something, or clairvoyant, when you can see something. You might hear clairaudience. Really developing a relationship with how your intuition speaks to you is super important as a splenic authority. And then again, trusting it enough and building a relationship because oftentimes people will ignore the spleen and it's very quiet. It speaks very quickly in the moment and then it's gone. And it doesn't often repeat itself. So it doesn't actually repeat itself. You really want to listen to it. And actually, I want to backtrack one second to the sacral. The sacral is going to give you the answer in the moment. You can't ask, you can't ask, whereas emotional authority, you need time. The sacral is in the moment. Same with the spleen. You're going to know in the moment if something is right for you or not.
SPEAKER_01: And we talked about 50% of the population are emotional. Sacral, I'm guessing splenic is smaller.
SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes it is. Oh, I don't have the exact percentages memorized. The sacral is about, I think the sacral is about 30-ish, give or take. Blenick is maybe like 18, 20, something like that-ish. Bigger than I would have thought. Yeah, it's because the other authorities are, we're getting now into the more rare authorities. Even though there are seven of them, there aren't many. If none of those centers are defined or colored in, but you have the little triangle that's above the emotional solar plexus, if you have that guy defined, that is your heart. and or your ego. And so that would be an ego authority. And that is essentially about what you want. It's like you make decisions based on what you want, what you truly have this desire for, what is on your heart. And there's a lot of conditioning that happens here about I can't do that. That's too selfish. And so helping women just shed that to understand that when they're following their authority, what is what they want is actually in everybody's best interest. So it's really important for them to follow that. Say that again.
SPEAKER_01: When following what you want, it's in everybody's best interest. It's not selfish. It's actually performing a service. It's making everything better.
SPEAKER_00: Yes. Yes. One hundred percent. Yes. Okay, if you don't have any of those centers, then we're going to talk about two different types of projectors. And so there's a projector where they have the throat connected to the identity center, which is the diamond in the center connected to the throat, which is the square above it. And these are called self-projected projectors. And essentially it's about talking things out. They really need to use their voice to make decisions. So although they may be, it sounds a little bit closer to using your brain or your mind to make decisions, it's really about how the words sound coming out of your mouth, the resonance that they have, and what is that resonance communicating about the decision that you're trying to make. So using somebody as a sounding board or even a couple of trusted people can be a really great strategy for a projector who has self-projected and even the mental projector just so that person can reflect for them. Hey, I heard you say this in this way without giving their opinion. Like, I think you should do this. It's more like, this is how I heard you say that. And that can be really helpful to bring clarity to the self-projected projector. And then the mental projector or environmental projector has the mind defined that's connected to the throat. So the mind is the second triangle down from the top. And that's connected to this square, the throat below it. And they have a very similar authority as the self-projected. They still need to use that voice. They need to talk it out. But it's more important for them to be in an environment that is supportive for them, that feels comfortable and safe, essentially. so that they can make their decisions, both of them using that voice. Environmental projectors are similar to reflectors, and so that is the last authority, is that lunar authority. Reflectors, again, no definition in their chart, so they are more So they're more attuned to that natural moon cycle and they're looking for, okay, what are the patterns that are happening throughout the month and where are those leading me? What are the experiences that I'm having, you know, and where is that sort of leading me?
SPEAKER_01: This is just so fascinating, and we have only dipped our toes into human design. Lori, for listeners who want to learn more about human design, What resources would you recommend to continue their learning? How can they work with you? Where do they find you? Tell us all the things.
SPEAKER_00: Yeah. When you get your chart on my website, I have a couple of freebies to get you started on your journey. One of them is an overview of type strategy and authority, which is oftentimes where most people start when they're learning about their human design. That will give you in a nutshell a lot of the things that we talked about today. And then there's also, I have some free journal prompts that can help you just dig into how is this resonating? And for example, if you find out that you're a manifester, do you suddenly feel like this validation that you didn't know you needed all your life? Or if you're feeling you are a reflector, for example, does that resonate? Does it explain some things for you? And, by contrast, are there things that don't really feel like you and how can you get curious about that? Some journals there and then I have a more in-depth report that you can order as well that's a paid offer for $27 and it gives you all of the ins and outs of your type strategy and authority so you can really dive deep into it. And I also do one-on-one sessions. I do longer coaching packages. And I have a program that is about to launch called Own Your Magic, which is like 12 weeks deep dive into human, your human design and actually living it. One of the things I find is that people get really curious and then they get into the weeds with all of the details and get overwhelmed and don't take any action with it. The program is really designed to help walk them through, okay, let's learn these things and then let's actually start doing them so we can change your life.
SPEAKER_01: All of that sounds fantastic. The program sounds great. I think $27 is a no-brainer. So all of that's on Lori's website. We will include a clickable link to her website in the show notes. We end every episode, and I know that this was a two-parter, but we end every episode with the same two questions. So for question one, Lori, if you could go back to your 30-year-old self, knowing everything that you know at this point with all of your life experience and all the lessons that you have learned along the way, what advice would you give to her?
SPEAKER_00: Learn human design. Really, if there's anything, I wish I had learned about it sooner because I think it would have, even just the decision making, I think that it would have been a game changer for so many things. And I think it would have given me so much more confidence with the things that were to come with parenting, with understanding my boys and my partner and all the people I love. Yes. I wish I had learned about it sooner. Good answer.
SPEAKER_01: And then a second question. What have you loved most about being a midlife woman?
SPEAKER_00: It's the first time in our lives that is just about us and our chance to really step into this whole be who you came here to be idea. And while that's scary, I think it's also such a beautiful time to be able to redefine ourselves when it's not about who we are in relationship to other people as a partner, as mom, as an employee. whatever it's like, who do we get to be and how do we really, I don't know, it's just exciting.
SPEAKER_01: I 100% agree. Absolutely. Thank you so much for being here. I have really enjoyed this conversation. I am for sure going to go download that, I'm going to go buy the $27 full report and dive into that. I can't wait, but thanks. Thanks again for being here.
SPEAKER_00: Oh, you're so welcome. Thanks for having me.
SPEAKER_01: Do you ever wish you had a community of midlife women you could go talk to about those big life questions that seem to pop up in midlife? Like, what do I want? What's my legacy? What's next for me? A community of women to have candid conversations with about all the things that come at us in midlife that no one else seems to be talking about. Changes in our bodies related to menopause, sure, but also changes in our relationships and family life and careers. Well, great news. The School of Midlife has launched a book club called Your Next Chapter. Each month, we'll be reading and discussing books that relate to the unique experiences of midlife women. It's absolutely free to join, and we'd love to have you meet up with us and add your voice to these important discussions. And this isn't like other book clubs, because if you didn't have time to finish the book, but you're still interested in the conversation, absolutely join us anyway, because you'll still get so much out of the conversation. The book club is free to join, but you'll need to sign up. Click the sign up link in the show notes and you'll automatically receive your invitation to join us. Get signed up, grab this month's book, and start reading. And we'll look forward to seeing you at the next book club discussion, where together, we're helping each other make midlife our best life.
